The modern smart phone is pretty powerful, far surpassing the capabilities and functions of pocket PCs and allowing users to connect, share and communicate in many amazing ways. Of course, smart is no longer the word to look out for, these days, it is all a matter of power.
Phones can do almost anything. They are the perfect organizer slash portable office slash media player. In fact, some phones allow you become your own independent film director. The high resolution cameras and on board video editing software will let you create some pretty amusing short films if you put some effort into but. Of course, this only matter if you care. Most people do not. In the end what is the point in having all sorts of mobile phone features when they really are not all that practical?
This is why there is a lack of any real smart phones, after all, any device that forces you to shell out more cash for features that you will never use really is not smart at all. The drawback into making a decent smart phone is that some manufacturers cut down on the wrong aspects. Other smart phones are borderline GSM devices with a near absolute lack of any decent features. What the public needs is a smart phone that is actually useful
The Practical Smart Phone
LG is a genius for coming up with the GM730. This mobile phone brings together all the good thing people would want from a mobile device without being too over the top. It has great connectivity options, excellent network coverage, GPS, a decent media package, a camera that shoots good quality images, a battery with a decent lifespan and an unassuming touch screen that is just the right size to use. LG has combined a great package in this device. The only thing lacking would be a full QWERTY keyboard, but that is an extra that not everyone really uses.
The operating system itself is a great example that simplicity is not always the way to go. The Class-S user interface is fun to use. It responds fast, and really lets you get a good feel of the resistive touch screen. Every flick, tap and slide causes a direct reaction on the interface allowing you to learn how to use without much contextual help.
What the Phone Packs
The LG GM730 has just the right blend of features that make it both good and practical. Do not expect any extreme specs, but considering what kind of mobile device this is, we can see what LG truly had in mind for the GM730. First off, the touch screen is three inches and displays a resolution of 240×400. The camera has a decent 5 mega pixels of clarity and shoots both images and videos.
You can connect to WiFi networks and other internet networks as well. In fact, everything you would expect from a smart phone is here. FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth support, micro USB slot and an expandable memory. Battery lasts a few good days on standby with the 1000mAh power it can store.
